Why ATB Place Is Being Reimagined

ATB Place is undergoing a multi-year transformation that will modernize its spaces, improve accessibility, enhance experiences for tenants and visitors, and reinvigorate downtown Edmonton. Beginning in late 2025, construction will take place in carefully sequenced phases to minimize disruption while delivering a revitalized, community-oriented destination.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THIS PHASE

Colliers and our construction partners are entering the next phase of work. Here’s what tenants, visitors, and the public can expect:

Upcoming Activity 

  • Mobilization of equipment and materials

Phasing Approach 

To maintain operations and public access: 
New areas will open before old areas are closed, allowing continuous use of the facility throughout construction.

Construction Updates - What's Happening Now

March 2026 Updates:

  • North Escalator Closure: Effective Monday, March 9th, 2026. To prepare for upcoming construction activities, hoarding will be installed at both the top and bottom of the North Escalator. The anticipated closure will extend through early Fall 2026. Alternate routes will be clearly marked and easily accessible.
  • Wayfinding Signage: clear directional signage will be displayed directly on the hoarding to guide occupants and visitors to alternate vertical transportation routes and key building access points.
  • South Escalators: will remain fully operational and will serve as the primary escalator access during this period.
  • Alternate Access: Elevators and other vertical circulation options remain available and unaffected.

 

January 2026 Updates:

  • To facilitate construction of new amenities, the fitness centre will temporarily close as of Feb. 28,2026
  • The existing conference centre on the concourse will also close as of February 28, 2026 to facilitate the rebuild of the new fitness centre. You will be contacted directly if you have any bookings scheduled following this date. 
  • Hoarding will be installed around the Northwest Concourse vacant spaces to facilitate demolition.

ATB Place has been a cornerstone of downtown Edmonton for decades. This redevelopment ensures it remains competitive, accessible, and equipped with modern amenities for current and future tenants. The upgrades will improve comfort, energy efficiency, and the overall experience for everyone who works and visits here. We’re grateful for your role in making ATB Place what it is today, and what 100 Jasper will become. This project is for you — to ensure your workplace continues to evolve, inspire, and deliver the quality and experience you deserve.

Redevelopment will be completed in carefully planned phases between Fall 2025 and 2028. Each phase is designed to minimize disruption, and we’ll share regular updates so you always know what’s happening and when. 

The redevelopment will bring construction jobs, increase downtown foot traffic, and attract new tenants to Edmonton’s core. 

Colliers has a dedicated Tenant Liaison to ensure clear communication and relocation support where needed. 

Minimal impact is expected. Building access, amenities, and tenant suites will remain open throughout each phase. Any work that could cause disruption will be scheduled outside of business hours whenever possible.

Alternate paths may be introduced temporarily. Clear signage will be provided.

Some light construction noise may occur during specific phases, but every effort will be made to minimize disturbance. Hoarding and dust barriers will be used to maintain a safe and clean environment.

No significant interruptions are planned. All access routes, elevators, and parking areas will remain available. Should temporary adjustments be required, tenants will be notified well in advance.

Clear signage, hoarding, and designated work zones will ensure safety throughout the redevelopment. Contractors and staff follow strict safety and noise-control protocols.

Food services, parkade access, bike parking and other building amenities will remain operational. The following spaces will be temporarily closed to facilitate construction and upgrades: the fitness centre, the conference centre and the north escalator. Tenants will be notified before the temporary closures of other building amenities.

Massage and tailoring will continue to operate as usual. If short-term closures or relocations become necessary, tenants will receive advance notice and updated location details.

The Tenant Lounge will remain open, and programming will continue throughout the redevelopment. You can expect ongoing social events, workshops, and seasonal activities as part of our continued focus on connection and community within the building. If any scheduling changes occur, details will be shared in advance.

Yes. The redevelopment will deliver modernized tenant spaces, upgraded common areas, enhanced accessibility, and new sustainable features that improve overall comfort and efficiency.
